Best Time To Visit Adi Kailash and Om Parvat
May- October is often the right time to visit, with views being the best at these months of the year. Right now, the route's closed. Monsoon rains make the upper stretches unsafe to travel, so this happens every year around this time, nothing unusual about it. Things typically open back up in September once the roads have been cleared and checked. We don't have exact dates yet for the next batch of Adi Kailash yatra package, but we're tracking it closely and will update this the moment they're out. Want us to notify you directly? Just drop us a message on WhatsApp.
What You Will See Along the Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Way
Dharchula
Gateway town, last proper market before the mountains take over.
Gunji
High-altitude village and ITBP checkpoint along the Kali River.
Nabi
One of the last inhabited Bhotiya villages before the border stretch.
Kuti
Remote settlement near the base, mythologically tied to the Pandavas.
Adi Kailash
The sacred peak itself, the emotional centre of the whole yatra.
Parvati Kund
A quiet glacial lake said to be where Parvati bathed.

Pithoragarh to Gunji / Navi / Napalchu
An early start takes you on a scenic drive through the mountains and along the river, climbing steadily out of Pithoragarh toward the high valley. You'll settle into your stay at Gunji, Navi, or Napalchu by evening, depending on your batch's overnight point.
Adi Kailash Darshan & Trek
The big day. You'll have your Adi Kailash darshan, then trek roughly 2 km to Parvati Kund, continue on to Bheem Ki Kheti, and take on a steep climb up to Gauri Kund. It's a full day on foot, so pace yourself and let your guide set the rhythm. You'll return to Gunji/Navi/Napalchu for the night.
Om Parvat Darshan & Return to Pithoragarh
An early departure gets you to Om Parvat for darshan while the skies are still clear. From there, it's a same-day drive back down to Pithoragarh, where your yatra wraps up.
What to Pack for Adi Kailash and Om Parvat
Keep it practical. You'll be layering up and down constantly as altitude and weather shift through the day.

What Not to Carry
This region has restrictions given the border proximity, so leave the extra baggage behind, literally. Skip heavy suitcases, expensive jewellery, unnecessary electronics, and anything on the restricted items list for the area. A soft duffel bag travels far better here than a hard-shell suitcase, and we'll share the full do's-and-don'ts list once you book.
Food, Stay & Daily Comfort
Stay
Guesthouses and homestays for most of the route, with basic camps near the higher stretches. Comfortable, not luxury, and always clean.
Food
Simple, warm vegetarian meals through the journey, built around what actually works well at altitude.
Bathrooms
Shared facilities in the higher villages — we provide the best we can in such higher zones.
Electricity
Available in most stays, though it can be limited in Gunji and beyond. Charge devices when you can.
Mobile Network
Patchy past Dharchula, and mostly unavailable in the higher villages. Let people back home know in advance.
Charging
Carry a power bank. It's genuinely one of the more useful things in your bag on this route.

Common Queries
Everything you need to know before you set foot on the trail.
It's rated moderate. Most of the route is covered by vehicle with short walking stretches, and the real challenge is altitude rather than technical terrain. Built-in acclimatisation days make it manageable for most reasonably fit travellers.
Our standard Adi Kailash tour package runs 10 days and 9 nights from Kathgodam or Pithoragarh, covering the full route to both Adi Kailash and Om Parvat along with return travel.
May to June and September to October tend to offer the clearest weather and the best chance of a full Om Parvat darshan. The route generally stays closed through the harsh winter months.
Yes, quite a few first-timers join this yatra every season. Since it's largely a road-and-short-walk journey rather than a technical trek, prior trekking experience helps but isn't mandatory. What matters more is being reasonably fit and altitude-aware.
An Inner Line Permit is mandatory given the border proximity, along with valid photo ID. We handle the permit process as part of every Adi Kailash Om Parvat tour package, so you're not left figuring out the paperwork alone.
Warm layers are the priority — thermal wear, fleece, a good down jacket, waterproofs, and broken-in trekking shoes. We send a detailed packing list once you book so nothing gets left behind.
Network gets patchy past Dharchula and largely disappears in the higher villages. Electricity is generally available at your stays, though it can be limited near Gunji and beyond, so a power bank is genuinely useful here.
Many senior travellers have completed this journey with us. What matters most is reasonable fitness and no serious cardiac or respiratory conditions. We'd always recommend a quick chat with your doctor beforehand, and with our team too.
Our Adi Kailash yatra cost starts from ₹42,500 per person and already includes the Om Parvat leg of the journey, since both are covered on one continuous route rather than sold as separate treks. The Om Parvat trek cost isn't billed separately in our package. Final pricing depends on group size, travel dates, and any customisation you'd like.
